George R. Grimes died at his home three miles south of Crawfordsville, Indiana, June 20, with a complication of diseases,
Mr. Grimes had been afflicted with rheumatism for serval years. Four weeks previous to his death he had a slight stroke of
paralysis and since that time had been confined to his bed until last Friday. Death came as a shock to all as he had remarked
to the family that he was feeling much better than he had for serveral days. Mr. Grimes was born in Union Co., Indiana,
November 10, 1846, aged fifty-nine years, eight months, and ten days. Was married to Sarah E. Byrd Nov. 2, 1871. He leaves
besides a wife, three children, Edward G. Grimes, of Martinsville, IN., Mrs. O. W. Oliphant, of Farmersburg, IN., Mrs. A. B.
Everett of Crawfordsville, IN., and a number of friends and relatives to mourn his loss. During his serious illness he sang
and prayed. Praise the Lord aloud for his wonderful love and grace that came in a time so much needed.
